Job Description

This person will work on formalizing our testing and quality assurance. Since we are growing very fast, we need to put into place the policies and procedures that automate and test our new development and provide automatic testing support to our engineers. If suitable, this person may eventually head our QA engineering department.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for testing all products and updates coming from the SmartAction R&D department
  • Ability to create and execute test cases for both manual and automated testing
  • Responsible for the development of test strategies and creation of appropriate test harnesses
  • Will work with a team of engineering to design new functionality, ensuring the proposed design is testable, and ensure the highest quality product delivery
  • Assist with troubleshooting production-level issues, behaviors, and potential problems/defects
  • Provide detailed report and analysis of all defects, risks, and issues identified during testing of all assigned projects
  • Participate in review of standards, procedures, tools, and processes
  • Perform reporting and monitoring duties
  • Conduct post-deployment review of all assigned projects
  • Ability to be on call as appropriate some nights and weekends
The ideal candidate will have
  • 6+ years experience as a QA engineer
  • 2+ years practical experience as a developer, writing software
  • Good communication skills, and ability to work fast, alone or in groups
  • Flexibility, and the ability to acquire competence in novel fields quickly
  • Ability to quickly analyze complex systems and solve problems
  • Must be comfortable working in a Microsoft shop
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 3 years relevant work experience
  • 3+ years experience in a test or development role as part of a product development organization which has delivered consumer oriented products
  • Knowledge and experience with Interactive Voice Response systems (IVRs) or similar customer facing self-service applications is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of JIRA, Confluence
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodology and Test Management tools
  • Experience with Perl/Python/JavaScript scripting and user-level automation
  • Working experience with Automation testing
  • Knowledge of Git and Github experience a plus
  • Creating and executing test plans with knowledge of technical requirements
  • Shows creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness
  • Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings
  • Experience working closely with development and business teams to communicate problem impacts and to understand business requirements
  • Must work well independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical, multitasking, problem solving, and detail orientation skills
  • Contact center operations knowledge is a plus
  • Must reside in regular commuting distance from El Segundo
